Pianist Kyung-Eun Na has cultivated a multi-faceted career as a performer, educator, opera coach, and music director.

She currently serves Head of Collaborative Piano at Purchase Conservatory of Music, SUNY. Prior to her current appointment Na had served as Visiting Assistant Professor of chamber and collaborative music at the IU Jacobs School of Music; taught at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock as Assistant Professor of Collaborative Arts and as Adjunct Faculty at New York University Steinhardt, Montclair State University, Seoul Arts High School, and Sungshin Women’s University (Korea).

In the 2019-20 season, Na will be presented in Artist Lounge Concert Series by Seoul Arts Center in Korea, directing and performing a cabaret-themed multimedia concert program. Na is also invited by Yamaha in Osaka, Japan with saxophonist Wonki Lee. In addition to concert halls, she will also tour to college campuses. She is returning to her alma mater, Oberlin Conservatory and presenting a recital program of contemporary American composers in collaboration with Katherine Jolly (soprano). Her masterclasses and lectures will be featured at Central Conservatory Preparatory School in Beijing, China, Dankook University, and Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul, Korea. She will also be participating in the production team of Le nozze di Figaro as a principal coach and harpsichordist at Hawaii Opera Theatre.

She has been participating as a coach and a pianist in multiple opera productions and concerts at Ravinia Steans Music Institute, The Soo Opera Theatre Project, Inc., Virginia Opera, The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, the Music Academy of the West, Aspen Opera Theater Center, International Music Academy in Siena (Italy). Winner of the Marilyn Horne Foundation Competition in 2007, Na participated in recital tour projects and master classes with emerging singers including Nadine Sierra, Brenda Rae and Isabel Leonard. 

Her chamber music credits include collaborations with renowned soloists such as Matthew Lipman (viola), Jasmine Choi (flute), and Soovin Kim (violin). Her collaborative performances include recital tours and opera gala concerts at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Steinway Hall, Town Hall, and Merkin Hall in New York City, as well as at major venues throughout the United States, South America, Europe, and Asia.

Beyond performing and teaching she directed multiple concerts, and a radio show, The Classical Collection at TBS English FM in Seoul, Korea. Na is enthusiastic about reaching audiences with limited access to public performance venues, especially residents of Alzheimer centers, children’s hospitals, and nursing homes.  She served on the board of innovative Bridge (EnoB), a non-profit organization that specializes in providing outreach concerts for disenfranchised populations.  As a Si-Yo Artist™, she has been internationally presented by the foundation, performing multiple concerts and giving presentations about classical music for schoolchildren.

Born in Seoul, Korea, Kyung-Eun Na earned her doctorate degree in accompanying from Manhattan School of Music, master’s degree in collaborative piano from The Juilliard School, artist diploma from Oberlin Conservatory, and bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Yonsei University.
